LES MISERABLES
LES MISERABLES
I watched the movie last night...and fell in love with this timeless story all over again.
That bit where Marius turns the song around, changes the lyrics and makes them about Cosette was SO CUTE!! I want a Marius :) His love for Cosette in the movie was so evident! I love the lines in the song where he goes: "Had you seen her today, you might know how it feels - to be struck to the bone in a moment of breathless delight."
I cried like a freaking sprinkler the ENTIRE TIME. And no, I swear on my life, this is not an exaggeration! The only scenes I didn't cry in, was 'Master of the House' and 'Heart Full of Love'. Everything else? Tears. Tissues. And sniffling. The entire cinema was crying - I noticed that when we all exited, there was not a dry eye. It was touching, beautiful and so very well executed.
The best character definitely goes to Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean. His performance was stirring and heart-wrenching. His acting was flawless and his character had so much depth and growth that it left you breathless. You felt his pain.
Amanda Seigfried's singing voice was like an angel! She reached such high notes that were so pure and sweet, that you never doubted she was Cosette. Samantha as Eponine made me cry. She loved Marius so much. Her song 'On My Own', in the rain, was done perfectly - her expressions, her small smile when she spoke of loving him...it was so, so, good.
The movie was brilliant and I hope you all get the chance to see it soon!!

My favourite song was ABC CAFE: http://www.tumblr.com/audio_file/alysthealmighty/38476187955/tumblr_mfdb94ZmT61rjw4lr
Oh...my...gosh. Josh Hutcherson is so NOT my idea of Peeta - mine's more like Callum Mcauliffe. But Gale's ok. Perhaps I'll be switching teams! And what on earth is with Effie?!
ReplyDeleteEffie looks like a cross between the Queen from Alice in Wonderland an a fairyfloss machine gone psycho. In other words, weird.
