It's Music Monday! Which means it's that time again where I pick a book & pair it with some winning tunes. Because every book and its characters deserve a soundtrack!

This Monday's pick is The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

The Problem with Forever is a YA contemporary romance novel that deals with the scars left by the past and the healing brought by the present.

I am a fan of anything written by Jennifer L. Armentrout to be honest - and this book was no exception! It had me hooked from the very first chapter. Mallory and Rider stole my bookworm heart whilst making me laugh and cry simultaneously! and brought me a cathartic tale that will stay with me for a long, long time.

So today I will be sharing a few of the songs from the playlist I've put together for this fantastic book. Let's get started!

Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes ~ ARC Review

There are tales that tell you how...and there are ones that tell you why.

We've reads these stories before and seen them in all their classic glory. Each one with its own set of distinct lines between good and evil, and the roles certain characters have been cast in for better or for worse.

But have you ever asked yourself "why?"

Why does the heroine fight for good?

Why does the villain hate the world?
Why do these characters have these fates?

That's where the re-tellings - the 'prequels' to the stories we think we know so well - come in to play. Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes paints a vivid and bittersweet portrait of the Queen of Heart's younger self. Back when a young Princess of Wonderland by the name of Dinah dreamed of the day when she would rule Wonderland.

Colleen Oakes weaves a web of curiosity, twisted deeds, and whirling emotions in this YA fantasy romance that had me intrigued from the very first chapter.

Read on for my thoughts on the book (and hold onto your heads!)

With parents too busy to pay her attention, an older brother and sister who would rather spend their time with friends, and peers who oscillate between picking on her and simply ignoring her, it’s no wonder that Fain spends most of her time in a world of her own making. During the day, Fain takes solace in crafting her own fantastical adventures in writing, but in the darkness of night, these adventures come to life as Fain lives and breathes alongside a legion of imaginary creatures. Whether floating through space or under the sea, climbing mountains or traipsing through forests, Fain becomes queen beyond – and in spite of – the walls of her bedroom.

In time, Fain begins to see possibilities and friendships emerge in her day-to-day reality. . . yet when she is let down by the one relationship she thought she could trust, Fain must decide: remain queen of the imaginary creatures, or risk the pain that comes with opening herself up to the fragile connections that exist only in the real world? Told in breathless and visual verse, THE LONELY ONES takes readers through the intricate inner workings of a girl who struggles to navigate isolation and finds friendship where she least expects it.
