Book cover: Any book with a steampunk theme is bound to bring a smile to my face! The whirring cogs and gears, accompanied by the mysterious female profile, definitely point towards intrigue and adventure ahead.
I also like how the cover of Book #1 has elements that tie in with Book #2 - this way the completed series will look stunning when seated on your bookshelf.
Thoughts: Reading a second book in a series is always difficult. The first book builds up so much expectation in readers that it can be a little daunting diving straight in to continue the adventure.
Dream of Me wasn't better than Wish For Me but it wasn't worse. It was just different. It was more of an exploration than an adventure, if that makes sense - this book was all about exploring in depth the characters, their emotions, their relationships, and their breaking points. What will they sacrifice to achieve their goals? What would they give up for the ones they love?
Also quick side note Irvingis fine as hell and is definitely a swoonworthy male character to look out for is also featured more prominently in this book. He even gets his own chapter, which is a nice change! And let's face it: the most attractive thing about Irving is his deep abiding love for Glory. His devotion for her shines through so strongly in this book and it makes you want to make a million Irvings for the female population to swoon over have an Irving of your own!
Wish For Me was an entertaining read. However I will note that it is not for people who don't like heavy doses of mature themes. I know I wasn't quite expecting it to rise to the level that it did so I did have to skim through some scenes - scenes that I think could have been a little less forced and crude so they didn't detract as much from the brilliance of the story's main concepts.
But if you're a lover of hot and heavy romances and all things steampunk, you'll most certainly enjoy Dream of Me!

ALL THE COGS! I don't know what that contraption does, but I bet it's something awesome XD |
The first book keeps up the clockwork-and-shadowy-profile trend, this time in an aqua green hue. |

Do I wish I had a machine that made fictional men real? Yes, yes I do! |
