Swoon Worthy Saturday ~ C.L. Stone's Silas

Hosted by: Stay Bookish

It's Swoon Worthy Saturday! Saturday is a day for swooning. Swoon Worthy Saturday is a weekly meme where in we present a fictional boy who has swept us off our feet, given us butterflies, made our heart do acrobatics and driven us absolutely crazy!

This Saturday's pick is the swooooon-worthy Silas from author C.L. Stone's The Ghost Bird seriesThere are 10 books planned in the series, with 7 released so far. The latest book, House of Korba, was released last month, on October 27th.

Silas is basically the 'Greek god' of the Academy boys. Funny, protective, and utterly charming, it's no surprise that the series' main female protagonist Sang has a hard time resisting him! I mean...could you resist a guy who calls you his 'aggele mou'?!

One of my favourite swoon-worthy Silas scenes from House of Korba has to be the following (NB: possible spoilers ahead!):
'"Aggele?"
"Yes Silas?"
Pause. "Did you mean it?"
I blinked, my lashes brushing across his skin. "Mean what?"
"What you told my dad. What you said when he asked if you were my girlfriend. Did you mean it?"
(...) The touch of his heartbeat against me and mine in my chest pushed the answer from my lips. "If you want me to be."
Silas sucked in a breath against me and started to sit up, pulling me along with him. He drew me into him until I was straddling him as he sat cross-legged on the bed. My knees were on either side of his hips, as his hands held me by the waist, his face close to mine. "Say it, Aggele."
"Silas..."
"Tell me you want me to be your boyfriend," he demanded in a deep whisper. In the glow from the streetlight, his dark eyes glittered as he focused on my face. "I want to hear you say it."'
Isn't he just adorable?! It was a total toss-up between sharing this scene with you guys and the scene where Silas teaches Sang how to kiss. Both have the ability to make a girl weak at the knees!

Did you swoon? Are you looking forward to reading more in The Ghost Bird series? Let me know in the comment's section below!

Also, be sure to let me know which fictional male you think I should blog about next ;)

About Book #1

'With an agoraphobic mother and a barely-there father, Sang abhors the isolation keeping her in the shadows. The only thing Sang craves is a fresh start and to be accepted as ordinary by her peers, because for her being different meant being cast out alone.

When her family moves to a new school district, Sang infiltrates a group of boys nearly perfect in every way. Grateful for an influence outside of her parents’ negativity, she quickly bonds with the boys, hoping to blend in and learn from them what it means to have a natural relationship with friends.

Only the boys have secrets of their own and they’ll do anything to keep her safe from the knowledge of the mysterious Academy that they’ve sworn allegiance to. Bit by bit, Sang discovers that her friends are far from the normalcy she expected.

Will her loyalty change when she’s forced to remain in the dark, or will she accept that she’s traded one house of secrets for another?'

    1. Actually, it's more of a YA mystery novel - I meant Greek god in the 'boy isn't he hot' sense!! Sorry for the confusion! <3 <3

  2. Silas is my favorite too, right there with North. I did a character break down of the books recently and realized I have a thing for the big burly guys haha.

Have you read her other series, The Scarab Beetle? Total heartbreaking hunks in that one too.

    1. Ooh, North is totally gorgeous too! The Scarab Beetle series is amazing, too - I've read Book #1 and have Book #2 sitting on my shelf just waiting to be read. Will definitely have to pick it up ASAP!
